Lasik

The word "lasik" sounds scary to me. I have been toying with the idea of going for lasik for years but it's always my fear who won the battle.

Last Sunday, when I went to stock up my softlens dailies, the optician checked my eyes and commented that my eyes are very stressed due to my long-wearing of soft lens. I wore them between 12 - 16 hrs everyday, 7 days a week. So not so healthy for my eyes.

I remembered that I got the same comment last year when I went to make a new pair of spectacles at another optical shop.

The word "lasik" popped up in my mind again. I finally decided to go for an eye evaluation...

The results showed that my cornea thickness is normal (>500 microns), degree is considered relatively high (625 & 725) and a slightly bigger pupil (7.0 mm). The doctor explained that though my degree is considered relatively high (very high ones are those more than 1000) but I have good cornea thickness. The only thing is that I may experience halo after lasik when looking at lights because of my pupil diameter and high degree but that effect is only temporary. He says after removing a thin layer of my cornea to correct my vision, i still have "enough thickness" for a normal cornea. He also assured that I have 98% chance of having a perfect eyesight. He emphasized that after care is very important and I must follow very strictly. He hopes I won't be the one to break his clean record :D

Black Toe again

I got a scare yesterday when Clarence's Teacher called to say he was very quiet in class, sitting in a corner reading books, when he woke up from his nap, he was very cranky and kept crying and lips a little purple......

I rushed back to realised that he is probably in pain because of his black toe. According to my hubby, he played with one of the speakers and accidentally dropped on his toe (ouch!). He is probably feeling the pain as when I saw him around 4pm, his toe is still red and swollen.

This is the 3RD TIME he got his toes black! Wonder when will he ever learn his lesson....

He is also having diarrhoea yesterday. Not sure if that is one of the reason why he was very quiet in class...anyway, it's a "happy-ending" to this episode, at least to me.....
His daddy brought him to KKH today and he came back with a big bandage that looks scary.
From this incident, Clarence learnt a new term...."big Toe".... :)

Prospect Son-in-law?

Chanel: Mommy, you know, Colin very naughty.
Mommy: Why is Colin naughty?
Chanel: He didn't listen to teacher and when we queue up, he jump queue.
Mommy: So what happen then?
Chanel: Then I suddenly come out and just scold him. I told him I don't friend him any more because he naughty and I will not marry him?
Mommy: ??? Marry him? Then who you want to marry?
Chanel: Yes, I want to marry Caden. Because Caden not naughty.
Mommy: Did Caden say he wants to marry you too?
Chanel: Yes!

Oh dear....it's finally my turn now to hear such things from my 4-yr old. Something I used to hear it from my friends. Soon I'll have to talk about the birds and the bees? Oh dear....too soon..too soon....

St. Nicholas Alumni

I've applied to join St. Nics Alumni for the sake of my daughter.

Come to think of it, I'm really kiasu. Though I've already got confirmation that Chanel will be able to enrol for Pri 1 under Phase 2A2, yet I'm still worried that she can't get in. With the Alumini status, she will be in the Phase 2A1 during the enrolment excercise in 2011. Should be quite safe then :)

Anyway, my hubby says that the $300 joining fees is far more cheaper than others who shifted their house in order to get their kids into this school.

So now that Chanel's school is confirmed, I have to start worrying about Clarence's....no school in mind yet since his daddy's school no longer exist....

My 1st Project

I'm recently going crazy over knitting. A hobby I have "forsake" for 10 years.

It was "rekindled" by 2 of my friends who will be giving birth soon. I was thinking hard about what what gifts to give them an then decided to try knitting a bootie for them.

Of course my first attempt failed ;( .... so I decided to do something else to boost up my confident and completed my 1st project :D

It took me 3 weeks (actual effort is about a week) to conceptualise and knit.

Now, I'll try the bootie again and hope I'll succeed this time.

Candlelight Dinner?

This is my wedding anniversary dinner after 8 yrs of marriage.....well, with 2 kids, at least I still get a steak. Just that the steak comes in a paperbox with fries underneath the steak and coleslaw everywhere and no candlelight.

But, come to think of it, I have never been to any candlelight dinner before, so what am I complaining? Or am I complaining?

Anyway, we DID have a different dinner....no rice or soup.....hahaha...... :P

Happy Wedding Anniversary.....to my Hubby & myself

Oh! Today is my 8th Wedding Anniversary and I forgot to cook dinner for my family!!!

My hubby may take that as a hint for eating out but I never never ever thought of that. I really forgot to cook. I swear!......but if he insist, I would not object. Hahaha...
